Question : i have a problem with my 1994 580m series 2 backhoe we put a new engine in had the injection pump sent out to retime installed new injectors it started up twice and cant start since.i crank the enginge over and theirs a little white smoke coming out but wont start.i took off the injection pump and had it retimed i thought it might have gone off timing since this type pump doent have a key way to lock gear to pump i tried to over torc the nut hoping it would be tight enough.it still hasnt started still has little white smoke but doesnt start up could you give me some direction on what could be posibly wrong i would really be greatfull Answer : When trying to crank, do you have fuel at the injectors? Have you loosened the injector lines at the injectors to be sure you have fuel coming out? If you are not getting fuel to the injectors, the fuel shutoff is probably not opening the pump so it will operate.
