Question : Hi, We would like to change the oil in a LT155 lawn tractor. Could you please tell us what the oil capacity is and the type of oil filter that it takes.
thanks muchly.
Denise

Answer :

Hello Denise.

Your JD LT155 will take about 1.5 quarts It is a single cylinder ohv kohler engine so we use 10w-30 oil which will help keep the hydraulic valve lifters quiet. That is what JD turf guard oil is. Just use a name brand oil. The JD part number for the oil filter is AM125424 and should run about $8-$10. Talk in a bit, Jason

$23 : Have NH L465. Raised cab, cleaned and painted equipment over

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

Question : Have NH L465. Raised cab, cleaned and painted equipment over last winter, this summer. Engine runs great. booms will not work. Have jumped out safety interlocks, have tried the “test” switch, Bought new high pressure switch, installed. Have checked voltage there. Voltage is present. Get no voltage down at the valves. I have foot controls for bucket and for booms. Both remain locked no matter what I do. I have had this tractor for 6 years. I always had a little trouble with the seat belt switch, but connecting and releasing and connecting again, usually did it. Have new oil in hydraulic tank, have working oil sender sensor. Booms remain resting on boom locks, and foot pedals are rigid.have even checked seat switch, and even jumped out the seat switch, and the seat belt interlock.
Gerald

Answer : In the fuse panel there are two relays, one is the starter relay the opposite one I think, is the one that works the solenoids on the valve body. Is this relay getting power? And if so, is it closing as it should? My other question is what high pressure switch did you change? The upside down switch in the hydraulic valve next to the radiator?

Question : I have a Ford 1720 tractor. After about an hour of mowing, I smelled oil. I looked down and ther was some oil on the transmission housing at my feet between the seat and steering wheel. I couldn’t see where it was coming from. When I checked the engine oil, the level on the dipstick was above full, when I started it was below the full mark. Can the hyraulic fluid get into the main engin pan? Thanks, Pat

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Question : I have a Yanmar 2500, with a Bulldog front loader (aftermarket), while I was moving some road base in to a trailer, the hydraulics started to act sluggish and after few minutes the whole front loader system was working but at a very slow rate.
After I got it home checked the fluid level and the screen both seemed to be OK, however the fluid looked like oil with water in it, is this possiable? All so my book for the tractor has nothing in it on the hydraulic pump, can you point me in the right direction?

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Question : My Mitsubish MX45 excavator( serial Number 00218) has developed a fault. On the control panel the ‘CPU’ light flashes and the hydraulic stick control arms do not function. Under the seat a code can be seen, this being ‘S1′ or ’51′ and then ‘P5′when the engine is running. The machine is a 1997 import from Tokyo CES. I would be grateful if you could advise me to what the fault code relates and if possible suggest a remedy.

CA$18 : I have a 1982 John Deere 4250 MFWD tractor and the transmission

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Question : I have a 1982 John Deere 4250 MFWD tractor and the transmission oil light comes when it is under load for a period of time (after ~20 minutes). I changed the hydraulic and transmission oil filters and it has not made a difference, the hydraulic oil level is up to full. The hydraulic filter case (horizontal) was warm to the touch and the transmission filter case (vertical) was cold when I was pulling harrows with it on the weekend and the light came on. The transmission oil light does not come on when doing light loader work around the yard. The transmission is a quard range. Any suggestions as to next steps in trouble shooting would be appreciated.

Question : I have a Kubota 2920 with the LA364 front loader. I am trying to put the loader back on and two of the hydraulic lines will not “snap” into place. It happens to be the top and bottom (referred to as A and B) in the manual. The top is white, the bottom is yellow. They go on but the ring will not snap in.

I checked the connectors -they are clean and the bearing inside are retracting. The connector does go all the way on.
