$17 : Murray riding mower engine swap – 14.5 Tecumsah (I/C Quiet

Question : Murray riding mower engine swap – 14.5 Tecumsah (I/C Quiet #287707) from a 42910x92a replacing a 14.5 Tecumsah (Enduro #204020A) in a 40715x99a. Both engines have the 2 wires from the coil, no problem there. The problems are that the 92a engine has a 2 wire switch on the floatbowl of the carb (the 99a doesn’t) and the 99a has a single green wire leading up towards the front top of the engine under the heat shield (the 92a doesn’t). Any ideas for the proper rewiring?

Answer : The 287707 is a briggs engine. It requires two wires. Use 2 wire connector from that engine. One of the wires is the ground and one is the hot.
